Investing in Solutions: Jen Seifert Advances Transitional Housing in Athens
Media Feature
June 17, 2024

“We either invest in programs that reduce barriers for folks or we’re paying for it in criminal justice charges and in health care,” said Jennifer Seifert in a recent WOUB feature.
With approval from the Athens Board of Zoning Appeals, 485 Richland Ave. will be converted into transitional housing as part of expanding the New Leaf Project. The site will provide counseling, financial empowerment, and workforce development for individuals impacted by trauma—offering a structured path to stability and independence.
Plans are also in motion to build a nearby 3D-printed coffee shop, creating both jobs and training opportunities for residents.
