As reported by Spectrum News 1, New Leaf Justice Enterprises, led by Jennifer Seifert, has been awarded nearly $26 million as part of the Appalachian Community Grant Program. This transformative investment will expand the innovative Resilience Village model, which combines housing, workforce development, mental health services, and community connection—all within walking distance.

First launched in Nelsonville, New Leaf has already helped participants regain stability, develop life and job skills, and rebuild their sense of purpose. With this new funding, the program will grow to include affordable housing projects, including 3D-printed homes and renovated community spaces, ensuring participants can stay rooted in the towns they call home.

This funding accelerates Appalachian families in building generational stability, one village at a time.

“We just started talking and dreaming and this is where the idea was born.”
— Jennifer Seifert, as quoted in Spectrum News 1, story by Michelle Alfini
